1. If I want to widen my driveway opening or make a new one, what is the process?

2. If I replace my driveway are there any specifications I must follow?

You should follow the city standards and not exceed the ADA cross slope for the sidewalk section. Please call 605-995-8435 for more information.

3. If I want to repair or install new sidewalk along my property what is the process?

You will need to get a free sidewalk permit and follow the city’s sidewalk specifications. You will also need to contact the city’s Engineering Office to come out and inspect the forms before pour. Please call 605-995-8435 for more information, or download a sidewalk permit.

4. If my sidewalk is cracked/heaved or has other hazards, who is responsible for repairs or accidents caused by these hazards?
